Whether you're a frugal explorer or a savvy traveller, here's a great guide to the eight best places to venture for a budget-friendly holiday that still boasts temperatures over 20 degrees, allowing you to savour that very last taste of summer.

Istanbul, Turkey: East Meets West in a Lively Fusion

Where to Stay: The Sultanahmet district is fab for proximity to historic sites.

Cuisine to Enjoy: Indulge in kebabs and don’t skip the baklava.

Fun Fact: The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia is an architectural wonder, featuring futuristic structures designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela. It’s pretty epic so do try to visit.

Lanzarote, Canary Islands: Volcanic Beauty and Beaches Galore

Where to Stay: Costa Teguise has access to pristine beaches and you can find some lovely accommodation.

Cuisine to Enjoy: The best fresh seafood and papas arrugadas with mojo sauce.

Top Activity: Explore Timanfaya National Park's volcanic landscapes, relax on Playa Blanca, and visit the Jameos del Agua.

Fun Fact: Lanzarote's Timanfaya National Park is home to Montañas del Fuego, where you can see geothermal activity caused by the island's volcanic nature. No big deal.
